One Kings Lane

I have a new sponsor.....my first one.
One Kings Lane
This is the first sponsor that I have considered after turning many down.
They have some great Christmas gifts, decorations, and home decor.
I was hoping I would be done with all of my shopping by the 1st of December.
 I'm almost done...
Take a peek at some of One Kings Lane items.

I always take a little gift with me to a party for the hostess.
 My Mother taught me well!
These pretty soaps would be a wonderful gift.
Cute tea towels

Two of these would look great on a Mantel for the holidays. I love black and white with Christmas decor.

I love these....wouldn't they make great gift baskets....filling these with cookies or teas.

They would be great with a plant in them or in the bathroom with white towels for your guest.

Botanical s are so hard to find these days. I have been looking for some for my own home.

I would love to get one of these rugs for Christmas.....hint hint....my hubby proof reads my  blog for me!

This would look great in my living room.

and in my dinning room!

Birckshire Antiques and Home sale has some wonderful items for the home. If by chance your getting your home ready for Christmas or New years and need that one special item.

Love these chairs.

Check out One Kings Lane here.....
This sale ends Monday!

I know I had mentioned a give away.

Funny thing...... maybe..... not so funny.....

I have not heard back from the the company that offered the give away.
I emailed them but didn't hear back from them.

I didn't  feel comfortable giving away a gift certificate without having it in my hand.

Hopefully I will receive it soon and if not.....

We will give something else away for all of you. Thanks for understanding.

Have a great weekend...

Fabricut or Duralee Fabric .....

I love going to flea markets and antique sales....
Its one of my favorite things to do......

I found two chairs for my dinning room that will be perfect but.....

Are these the ugliest chairs you have ever seen?

 Now, maybe in their day......

they might of been something else, but a cat has made them home....

and they look like they had been in someones garage.......

in other words .........

they are no longer the cats meow, but for $25.00 they will be perfect for my dinning room.

The style is perfect and once their reupholstered they will look great.

I could paint the legs a fun color.....

Or paint them the same color as my dinning room set.
Check out the post I did on painting my dinning room here.
I did have these fabric samples in my office, but I  sent away for some new fabric samples.

This fabric is from Fabricut and it's a pretty large print.

It could work on the back of the chairs and a stripe on the front.

This is one of my pillow fabrics, it could be a little boring.
I would like to introduce a little red in my dinning room.
You really learn your personal style when you have a blog and Pinterest.

I have two styles I'm attracted to for my own home....

One is a California Beach Style and the other is a Houston feel.

I always recommend to my clients to start a Pinterest page
It helps them define what they want.

These are the fabrics I used in my living room.

I will show you the new samples as soon as I get them.
It would be nice to get them done before the holidays, but I'm not counting on it.

 Would you like that?

I will post the give away this week and Tina from The Enchanted Home Blog will be with us the next week.
Tina is going to share with you how she got started blogging and some tips that have helped her.

She is lovely and I'm looking forward to meeting her in person, to see her home go here.

The Blessings of the Season

In every passing season their is a moment of reflection.

It's a chance to be thankful for what we have and to count our blessings.

I'm Thankful for a loving husband who has grown to become a man of integrity...and the family that we created together.....

Thankful for the abundance that has been provided for us.

To celebrate with family.....

Welcoming the new life of a little one.....

Those special moments with good friends

And you.....

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm also thankful for my Mother who taught me to always laugh at my circumstances when life throws you a curve ball.

 Thanks mom

Be thankful that you don’t already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?

Be thankful when you don’t know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.

Be thankful for the difficult times.
During those times you grow.

Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.

Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.

Be thankful for your mistakes.
They will teach you valuable lessons.

Be thankful when you’re tired and weary,
because it means you’ve made a difference.

It’s easy to be thankful for the good things.

A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.

Find a way to be thankful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Project Update.....

(Martha O' Hara)

It's about time!
I've been really bad about keeping all of you in the loop....  I've been working on a few things and this is one of them........
I shared a few of these ideas in an earlier post and we now have finalized some of the furniture and fabric ideas.
This is an inspiration image of the colors and feel my client wanted . The yellow will be swapped out for green.
She wants contemporary pieces with some traditional
We have put together a floor plan and sourced out furniture.
Here are some of our selections that she loved..

This is her living room.......
 The challenge.....
taking your eye away from the six little windows and bringing it back to the fireplace, the focal point..
We have to keep the marble and the carpet to stay within the budget.

Here is the idea board that we gave the client.

I wanted the fireplace to be the focal point.
By adding the wood above the fireplace.... it takes your eye away from the windows.
Adding a large picture above the mantel will also help.
The drapes will  soften the windows into the background and the walls will be a taupe color.

I drew these images to give her an idea of what it will look like.

She wanted a sofa with an English arm, this is the one she likes.
We are using a linen fabric on it that is an ivory...oyster color.

Pillow Fabric....Kravet

This will be used on the Chairs in the dinning room and 2 small pillows for the living room chairs.

She loved this fabric....it will be used for one pillow on the sofa.
I am still looking for one more fabric to go with this and possible the green animal print...we'll see.

This paisley fabric might go on an ottoman. The color is a little deeper in person....

The two chairs will have a linen fabric that has a mix of a subtle taupe, gray, and cream. The stripe pillow will go on these.

This will be in a champagne finish

Decor Pad

I would love to throw a zebra rug into the mix.....we'll see what she says....

Rug option

Rug option....these images are not the best.

option for a table

I love this table but it needs to be in a champagne finish

We are using two of these babies on either side of the fireplace.
Sorry this is a little blurry

(Houzz, Atmosphere Interior Design)

The dinning room will have grass cloth and white wains-coating like this image. The grass cloth will be a taupe color.

This is the dinning room.

This is one of the drawings I did for her.

We will take the canning out of the chairs and add the fabric in the center. We are keeping the gray rain drop fabric on the seats.

Fabric for the chairs.

This is the chandelier she likes.

I've been working on a few other projects that have been keeping me busy.
I'll share with you soon...... but for now.....are you all ready for Thanksgiving?

I can't believe Thanksgiving is around the corner.....

I'm not sure what we are doing for Thanksgiving, but we are celebrating with a family get together on Sunday.

We are having 20 people over and a lot of the family will be meeting the new grand-baby for the first time.

I was going to make a big Turkey and have all the fixings.....
thought about it....only for a minute and I decided to order food in......
What can I say.....a little lazy I guess!

What are you doing for Thanksgiving?

 Well, gotta go for now.......
Thanks for stopping bye
