A Visit to Davenport Home

I've been wanting to visit Davenport Home's showroom and finally had a chance to go
I like to see the furniture before making recommendations to my clients.

They are located in Brea, California and have been in business for 10 years.

Their a family owned business and they offer a wide variety of custom furniture.

They had great choices of fabric.

Each piece can be customized to fit your every need. You can choose from different finishes and sizes and they are made right here in the USA.

I Hope you liked their products as much as I did. Check out their web-site here.

So, what do you have planned this weekend?
I have a quiet weekend planned.

I'm hoping to get some projects completed around the house.
So many things need to be done.

Do you have anything fun planned this weekend?

I would love to hear about them.

Well that's all for today....have a great weekend.

Palm Interiors...

We had a great weekend...
It was beautiful here.
It was sunny and warm Saturday.
We spent time with old friends Saturday night...
They had a chef come to the house and he made wonderful appetizers and Sunday we went to brunch with friends and cleaned out the garage...
Well, my husband cleaned out the garage while I made tortilla soup....
Yum!
One of my favorites.
I found these images and wanted to show you....

Dana Lyon is the designer at Palm interiors...I was drawn to her work because it has such a calm and relaxed feel.....

Simple, but interesting

Thoughtful

Artistic

Sophisticated but comfortable

Livable

Classic and Creative

and Cozy....
A perfect way to be inspired for the week!

The Beauty of Steel Windows

(James Thomas, Houzz)

Hello blog land....Hope you all are well...I'm working with a client that loves these steel windows and would like to use them in her new home.....What do you think?  I like them very much and they go with so many different styles.

They look great in a contemporary home and a country style setting. They seem to work well with both design styles.

I thought this image was so pretty...it reminded me of Penelope Bianchi's home. She has a wonderful view  like this one..... you can see it here.

This is another image I adore....the light coming through the window feels like the inside is extended out.

 So, what do you think?
Would you prefer wood windows or steel?

Have a great weekend!

Chairs and an Entry Update...

I always love a good transformation...

My client bought these chairs.....

but the fabric was all wrong......

I took them to Juan, my upholster  and he worked his magic....

We restyled the front and had the fabric come
down to cover up the wood in the front.

We wanted them to look lighter and this did the trick.

We used a fabric from Kravet.

Remember these chairs I found for my dining room....

I ordered the new fabric from Robert Allen....
it is perfect.

What do you think?

I love it!

The legs are being painted and hopefully they will

be recovered next week....

These are the pillows on the sofa in the Living room.....

and the chairs will be close by in the dinning room...

It needed a darker fabric...

everything was on the lighter side and I felt it

needed depth to create interest.

Here are some of the fabrics that I'm using in the living room.

This is taking so long......

It feels like I've been working on this forever!

The ottoman was recovered in this Duralee fabric by John Robshaw.

It looks so much better!

Are you a flea market junkie?
 I am.....

I found this chair but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it....

It might go to a client.

I also found these sea fans and framed them.

This is the entry way....
I'm looking for a new piece to replace this old dresser.

It's as old as the hills....it's from the eighteen hundreds

and  I love it.....

 but its a little blah!

If I keep it in the entry I would have to paint the wall....

which is a problem....

this wall connects to so many other walls.....

there isn't a natural break and we are thinking of moving.....

so who wants to paint the whole house when it

really doesn't need it and I might not be here....

I think it needs more color.....

like this one from our Montecito trip..

or this one....

from Christy Fords home...

we did a post on her here

This entry way is interesting and creative......

its symmetry and balance create a perfect space....

Well that's it for today.....

I will let you know if I find a new entryway
piece.

I want something that has a blue patina and has some pazazel!

 Good luck with that...right!
