The eloquence of a simple white pot. Traditional, contemporary, country or modern it can be used in so many design styles. Designer Pam Pierce |
Here it is used with an industrial table amidst a very natural setting. Designer Vincente wolf |
Designer Dan Marty, Have you seen his designs? Love his style. |
Love the pots displayed against the green hutch. (Eclectric Revisited blog) Do you miss Maureen? We do! |
One of our favorite images. Designer Thad Hayes |
In this Traditional setting the pots play a role at center stage. Designer Suzanne Kasler |
Love, love this...a little more rustic than the others, but still so interesting. Sergreto finishes |
A great collection of different patterns and styles yet unified by their color. Country Living |
These pots take your attention up and over the armoire to fill the space in an otherwise empty and maybe boring corner. Chic Coles |

Isn't it amazing how a little cream can have such a calming affect on the entire room ?
ReplyDeleteJust a very serene look... Love it.
Yes I love white pottery but have way to much of it, seriously boxes full and need to sell some. You picked out some amazing pictures to show. And YES, I miss Maureen!

So simple yet with such impact. Gorgeous pictures here. x Sharon (PS I also miss Maureen and wonder how she is doing.)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful.....something so simple can have such impact in a room. I have some, but always room for more!
ReplyDeleteI like the more rustic pottery usually but am also drawn to interesting shapes no matter what the finish. Suzanne Kasler's collection is great as centerpiece.
ReplyDeleteI think you've inspired me to start a collection. My favorites are the displays of similar shapes and sizes..... they create such interest...... not to mention I can imagine pulling them off the shelf and filling these beauties with lots of fresh bouquets of flowers!
ReplyDeleteI especially like your closing comments, which steer us to the idea that we need to take the time to make considered decisions as we design and decorate a room. Often, it is not enough that we like something. The risk of filling a room with things you like is visual chaos. As you point out so clearly - we need to consider the impact of what we are doing on the space and the people in the space. What is the intent? Should we edit? The suggestion to take a picture is terrific! it is a very useful tool helping you focus on aspects such as composition, light, depth, etc.
ReplyDeleteFantastic post!
Cheers,
John
Great point about photographing your work. It is so helpful in visualizing work. This white post is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteI love white pottery. I have been looking for lidded confit style pots like those in the first image and in the green cupboard from Maureen's blog. (I miss her too.) Any idea where I can find some like those?
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely post.
All the best...Victoria
Hi Julie & Danni!
ReplyDeleteThese are so pretty; that first image is one of my favorites. Years ago, I found a set of cream pots at a junk shop that I didn't snatch up, & I have kicked myself for it ever since.
Have a wonderful week!
