We fell in love with this beautiful chair that was painted gray with a hint of blue. The gold on these chairs were gorgeous. |
Have you painted with chalk paint? This cabinet reminds us of it. Julie has bought 3 cans and is trying to find the time to paint up a storm. |
Love the blue and white china. |
Great idea for displaying antique books. |
The natural colored accessories mixed with the white has such a crisp look. |
We love using books for display. So many things could be put on them. Wouldn't coral look great? |
The patina blue, ooh la la! |
We have heard how easy it is to use chalk paint. If you want to learn more go to http://savvysouthernstyle.blogspot.com/ and search her blog, Kim has some wonderful tips on how to use chalk paint. Check out The Blue House, promise it will be a treat! And..... Could you be kind enough to take some time to join our Linky follower. Google friend connect will soon be phased out. We would hate to lose any of you in the process. Thanks so much |
So pretty! Love all the blue and white. My home is filled with transfer ware and lots of neutrals. I will book mark this! Great ideas :) leslie

ReplyDeleteI read something the other day about GFC going away but I thought that was only for non-Blogger hosted blogs...?
What a lovely shop. Everything is so nicely styled. Kim at Savvy Southern Style is definitely a pro at the chalk paint. I think she had a post up this week.
ReplyDeleteI would have to be dragged out of this shop so it is a good thing it is far from me!
ReplyDeleteI have been studying tutorials on painting with chalk paint, and it certainly has its place in this business! I am going to refinish a small chest with the blue.
Happy Friday.

ReplyDeleteHope you both have a great weekend!!
Thanks so much for the mention. Love the hutch and it does have a chalk paint look. That is the whole purpose of chalk paint, to create old worn finishes.
ReplyDeleteI'm in love with the gold and blue-grey chair...what a beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing your shopping trip with us.
ReplyDeleteI love the white accessories, they are so pretty! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend!

I am totally fascinated by the little tray in the 5th photo. it looks like the tray bottom has been painted with a small tablescape scene. Haven't heard of chalk paint. Milk paint is making a comeback here in New England. There's place in Gardner, MA that makes it. You buy it as a powder. Cool stuff...
ReplyDeleteUmmmm....What's a Linky follower...
Cheers,
John
First, I did the Linky thing. Wouldn't want to lose track of you. I love this store; I am drooling over the chair and the blue and white porcelain and the antique books and the gorgeous white covered cheese plate...in other words, all of it. I hope they have a website because I live on the other side of the country from Santa Monica.
ReplyDeleteAll the best...Victoria

ReplyDeletemy husband and i have been playing around with the chalk paint and made a discovery. you see we wanted a coral colored paint which is a color annie sloan does not carry. so we went to the paint shop, picked a color, had it added to a primer.......much cheaper........painted the cabinet & used the annie sloan wax......perfect!

Hello Aurelia, I'm so pleased you like our chairs. They're a pair of gilded back French chairs that were newly upholstered in London where we purchased them. The circa is 1910 and they sell for $3000.
