The Beauty of Steel Windows

(James Thomas, Houzz)

Hello blog land....Hope you all are well...I'm working with a client that loves these steel windows and would like to use them in her new home.....What do you think?  I like them very much and they go with so many different styles.

They look great in a contemporary home and a country style setting. They seem to work well with both design styles.

I thought this image was so pretty...it reminded me of Penelope Bianchi's home. She has a wonderful view  like this one..... you can see it here.

This is another image I adore....the light coming through the window feels like the inside is extended out.

 So, what do you think?
Would you prefer wood windows or steel?

Have a great weekend!

  4. If I could, I would rip every window out of my house and make them steel!!! They look amazing ... if your client has the house that can handle the style ... go for it!! xo

  6. I love them and what I think is so interesting is that they had fallen out of favor for awhile but now seem to be the thing to do! I remember in the early 90's when people were taking them out (a major expense!), wonder if some are regretting this decision? M.

  7. I love the look but they seem like they're for warm weather climates. It seems like they would transfer a lot of cold from the outside and even frost up on the metal portions if the weather was below freezing.

As an alternative, I've considered painting my interior sashes and mullions black or dark gray to get the look but wonder if you have to do it through the whole house for a consistent look.

  9. I would love to have steel windows but they don't really belong on a 200 plus house. I am simply in love with steel windows so I say go for it!

    Enjoy your weekend!
