Dining Room Plans...

I have been working on my dining room for a long time....
When I'm designing for clients its hard to find the time to work on my own home...
So, its been a process.....
I found this beautiful vase and it looks perfect in my dining room..

I wish I could get my home decorated in just 6 weeks....
Like Linda's One Room Challenge.....

A bunch of designers and bloggers re-decorate a room in just 6 weeks...

Man.....you would have to work around the clock...

I had bought these drapes from IKEA...
We were going to move and I needed something neutral to sell the house....
So, now that we are staying....

I can look for drapery fabric that I really love...

Did I mention that the dog peed on them!?
Not really happy about that!

The blue and white fabric thrown on top is from Kravet...

I'm not sure I'm sold on it...

I love this fabric from Schumacher..
Maybe pillows for my family room?

Duralee Fabric

I would like to add green into my living room and dining room..
So pretty!
The fabric is from Duralee...

Remember when I took this on?

It was exhausting!

This was my 70s furniture before....
outdated!
I would love to buy something that has more of a contemporary feel....

But its not in the stars right now!

It looks much better, but here is my to do list...

Side chairs have to go...to country.

New drapes and rods...

The dog made sure of that...not liking the smell of urine!

Pictures for the wall next to the curtains..

New chandelier........

I would love to add wainscoting or some wood details..
Maybe grass cloth....

I want the side chairs to be on the contemporary side and they need to have fabric on the backs.....

It would help soften the room...

I have some at my husbands studio which after it sells I'm thinking of bringing them home.

I really need to find art work for next to the windows...not digging those little shelves...to boring!
It really helps to take a picture of your room...
It gives you another perspective..
You notice things you didn't before..
Have a great week!

Blue Spa Colors

(El Mueble)

I survived the boutique that my daughter and I participated in....

Boy...

that was a lot of work....but fun!

It was worth all the hard work just to be able to be with my daughter...

(El Mueble)

She is so creative and fun to work with...
She has become a beautiful women...

( El Mueble)

I love this blue spa color...

I have two clients that Ive been pulling fabric for in this color palette...

It has a soothing feel.....

I adore this old pine table that Carol Glasser
used with these gorgeous jars...

Janet Simon

The Iron Gate...this image and the one below...

So pretty!

Sarah Richardson now has a line of fabric
with these soft pretty colors for Kravet....

Do you remember when she had her first show on H.G.T.V?
She looked like she was 12...and now look at her...
Shes come along way!

Chairs and an Entry Update...

I always love a good transformation...

My client bought these chairs.....

but the fabric was all wrong......

I took them to Juan, my upholster  and he worked his magic....

We restyled the front and had the fabric come
down to cover up the wood in the front.

We wanted them to look lighter and this did the trick.

We used a fabric from Kravet.

Remember these chairs I found for my dining room....

I ordered the new fabric from Robert Allen....
it is perfect.

What do you think?

I love it!

The legs are being painted and hopefully they will

be recovered next week....

These are the pillows on the sofa in the Living room.....

and the chairs will be close by in the dinning room...

It needed a darker fabric...

everything was on the lighter side and I felt it

needed depth to create interest.

Here are some of the fabrics that I'm using in the living room.

This is taking so long......

It feels like I've been working on this forever!

The ottoman was recovered in this Duralee fabric by John Robshaw.

It looks so much better!

Are you a flea market junkie?
 I am.....

I found this chair but I'm not sure I'm going to keep it....

It might go to a client.

I also found these sea fans and framed them.

This is the entry way....
I'm looking for a new piece to replace this old dresser.

It's as old as the hills....it's from the eighteen hundreds

and  I love it.....

 but its a little blah!

If I keep it in the entry I would have to paint the wall....

which is a problem....

this wall connects to so many other walls.....

there isn't a natural break and we are thinking of moving.....

so who wants to paint the whole house when it

really doesn't need it and I might not be here....

I think it needs more color.....

like this one from our Montecito trip..

or this one....

from Christy Fords home...

we did a post on her here

This entry way is interesting and creative......

its symmetry and balance create a perfect space....

Well that's it for today.....

I will let you know if I find a new entryway
piece.

I want something that has a blue patina and has some pazazel!

 Good luck with that...right!

Kravet, Lee Jofa, Ralph Lauren, and Brunschwig and Fils

The L.A. design center is always a great place to go and to find inspirations for clients. Kravet's showroom had some fun vignettes.

We were looking at fabrics and furniture. Kravet has some wonderful furniture and a line of fabrics that are beautiful. They also have a fabric line that is called "smart fabric".
There is no extra charge for fabrics if you choose from the smart line.

What do you think about using pink or mauve in your home?

Great neutral palette.

This is Ralph Lauren's beautiful fabrics on a Kravet sofa. Love the black floral pillows with the white sofa. Notice the black trim details at the bottom of the sofa.

Love the blue and white jars!

These little numbers were with R.L's fabrics. OK, we should have put them underneath the sofa picture. No one is perfect!

Lee Jofa chair and fabric

(Kravet)

We also visited the Lee Jofa showroom were we saw this gorgeous chair with Brunschwig and Fils' fabric. Love!

Notice the trim detail! This is what sets your  home apart when you work with a designer. Those little details that add the extra touches and interest. It looks designed and not like everyone
else's home.

Love, love, love!

(Brunschwig and Fils)
The border is incorporated into the fabric design.

Lee Jofa set the stage with this wonderful rug and complemented it with beautiful fabrics in grays, whites and browns.

Hope you enjoyed the tour through the showrooms.
