Summerland and a Birthday Lunch

I just celebrated my birthday with my daughter and daughter-in-law up in Summerland.

We visited some of the cute little shops...
This was at Botanik, one of my favorites..

We also went to an area called Santa Clause Lane and had lunch...

I loved these big pots...

We had lunch at the cutest restaurant...

It was the perfect place to eat with my grand-daughter...

She was entertained by the birds and had fun playing in the water fountain...

Isn't she cute?

It was so relaxing sitting out in the garden and enjoying the day...

Here's the family...
My daughter and I, my daughter in-law and my cute grand- daughter...
My daughter is 4 months pregnant and she is just starting to show......

There's nothing better than a day with the girls!

The Helms Bakery....

I had such a fun day....

We all need those days just to laugh and not think about anything serious!

I went to H.D. Buttercup to celebrate my girlfriends birthday....

It's located at the Helms Bakery in L.A...

It was a Bakery that started in the 40s and closed around 1967...

The Helms Bakery truck delivered bread and bakery goods to your door....they would drive up and down So. California neighborhoods selling donuts and bakery goods from their trucks...

I know I'm dating my self big time...

but I loved when the Helms man came to our neighborhood...

They would pull out drawers of fresh donuts to choose from.....

Yum!

Now it's a shopping destination with some interesting shops and places to have lunch....

I could of spent hours at H.D. Buttercups....

It went on and on...

So many interesting things to look at...

I loved this old chair...

It reminded me of something Van Gogh would have painted...

I found this vignette interesting...

The rusty wire baskets and the owl pictures caught my eye...

The chandeliers were really pretty...

the picture doesn't do them justice...

What do you think about these bird pictures?

They could be really fun or really dark depending on what you put with them...

At first I imagined them in a room with splashes of yellow, bright and a colorful decor...

OK, then my brain went to the dark side...
shoot....

couldn't you see them in a haunted house with skeletons...

OK....
I have seen to many scarey movies...

I always find a day with close friends restores my energy and reminds me of the things that are important...

It doesn't matter what we do or where we are....

we always have a good time.

Happy Birthday my friend...

I love you guys!

An English design twist in Summerland Calif.

We never grow tired of this style. The English country style with these wonderful pillows that have an ethnic feel. This is a little store in Summerland California that portrays a Santa Barbra style.

Santa Barbra home style reflects the town's atmosphere, comfortable and relaxed. The ocean breezes and the laid back atmosphere reflects the style of design.

The soft colors of blues, a red almost pink tone and tangerine are so pretty.

Now it's Julie's turn to get caught in the picture of the mirror.

Love all these old pots...

Notice the book in the back titled Chintz. We have not seen Chintz fabrics for a while.  Maureen over at Eclectic revisited feels that English country Style is going to make a come back.

.

We love the flare of India printed pillows and the old pine furniture from the 1800s. The old pine furniture is hard to find these days. It's a nice change from the grayed out furniture and still be on the lighter side. Do you think we are going to see English country style make a come back this year?

Thanks for stopping by, Julie and Danni

We are joining Savvy City Farmers party. Please join us there.

Shopping at the Agoura antique mart and A Beautiful Mess.

The Agoura Antique mall is always beautiful at Christmas time. They have an artistic way of displaying items. Every time we go in there it is a treat!  We also went into A Beautiful Mess, which is also just  as creative with their displays. It is a great place to spend the day and have lunch at the little cafes nearby.  We hope you enjoy some eye candy and wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving.

A Beautiful Mess
By the way, if you stop by let them know we say hi! They are the nicest gals. They were just starting to decorate for Christmas. We will be stopping by again soon and  show you some more of their creative display decor.

There are so many things we are thankful for, family, friends and all of you.  We want to thank all of you for welcoming us into the blogging community and visiting our blog. Hope you enjoyed a little eye candy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Malibu Colony Company

If any of you have visited Malibu California, you would know, that it is home to many stars. You never know when your going to see someone famous.

We stopped by a cute store called Malibu Colony to get some ideas for clients. Isn't this a clever idea? The Malibu Colony has trendy, beachy things that are unique and fun.

Wouldn't this be perfect for a beach house?

We love this table.

We love this chair with a natural linen fabric.

A pop of orange. Yes!

What a fun side table! Love the little bit of color.

They had some fun shell chandeliers. Did you notice the shells are shaped like butterflies?

There is  that side table again. It looks great with that wire lamp.

Have you noticed that all the colors are muted. Mostly black, white and cream with a little silver.

.Look who is in the mirror?

We loved these pillows.

 Are you noticing something here?

A little bit of brass!  Get used to it, its coming back.

Have you noticed from our Windsor post, Danni keeps getting caught in mirrors! May be we should save them and do a post on Danni in mirrors... What do you think?
