I love the style of this store.... it has a casual laid back feel... They use a lot of natural woods, black and wicker pieces. |
I'm a sucker for American flags.. |
They displayed wicker trays of all sizes.... and used shells and coral as art objects.. |
I love blue and white ginger jars... which most of you know by now! |
I'm going to cover a couple of my lamp shades with fabric like this one... Its pretty easy... the hard part is finding the time! |
Oh I just love a good day in Santa Barbara. I haven't been to this store yet. It will be on my list for next time.

Gorgeous! What a fun way to spend a day, lucky you. I love the rustic casual coastal vibe with a healthy does of blue and white:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun adventure! I LOVE Santa Barbara, but it's been a few years since we've been. This looks like a lovely shop - I can just picture my husband standing outside tapping his foot impatiently while I get lost treasure hunting!
ReplyDeleteGlad you got to get away for a day!
What a great store ! Nice job with images too!

We've heard so many wonderful things about this store and your pictures really give us a feel for its atmosphere. Love seeing the mossy terra cotta pots that we use for our orchids... One tip we have for taking a sharp picture is to hold your breath before you click. Works every time!

Your pictures are great and since the shop is on the same coast I'm on, I'm placing this on the list with some Summerland antique stores I recently read about. I wish you would provide a tutorial on how to cover lamp shades. I have a shop that will do it but the price is astronomical.

I need all the help I can get with photography. I am horrible at it and that's not such a great thing for a blogger. Looks like a fun adventure!
ReplyDeleteLove your style! Pictures look great too!!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try that camera trick! And I love all the photos you took- really wish I had a store like this around here to go to. I love that fabric covered lampshade!
ReplyDeleteI think your pictures are great! Thanks for the trick! I can't imagine living so close to a beautiful place like Santa Barbara…so jealous :)
ReplyDeleteYou always visit the best stores! Great photos too!
ReplyDeleteYour pictures look great, Julie!
ReplyDeleteI would go crazy in this shop. The wicker tray would have to leave with me.
Thank you for sharing.
Happy Wednesday.

Your pictures are lovely and so is the store!
ReplyDeleteA few suggestions from my humble self, learnt through experimenting: The tip that you mention on sharper picture is true..I learnt by sheer frustration (trying to get a perfect one of a fidgety toddler). Not too sure if I am explaining it correctly...you press the click button slowly and just a little short of clicking it finally you will notice that the picture becomes sharp. That is the point at which I know I've captured a sharp picture.
To get the light exposure right move the camera along the vertical line (y-axis) and at some point you will notice in the camera that the frame appears bright and you hold the camera at that angle to click the brightest shot :).
What a lovely time! You know I love all the blue and white in this store!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky to have such great stores. Me, not so much!
