Coastal Living

I've been busy looking for art work and accessories for my clients coastal inspired home  ...I collected these images to inspire me during my search...

These styles from Blackband interiors have a contemporary feel...the coral pictures and sea grass rug add to the look...

Grass-cloth wallpaper is also used in Coastal Homes..

Brandon Architecture from orange county added coral pictures and coral in the bookcase...

I love the contemporary beach feel to these coral prints...

Barclay's Butera has a reputation for a beach style...stripes, blue and white pottery, shells and art work of the sea...which lean more toward the traditional feel.

The pictures above have more of a traditional feel.

This is a fun look with the whale..notice the mix of the pattern rug with the stripe bedspread...the fun lamp shades complete the look.

These pictures could be so fun for a beach-y look.

You can add t
o the coastal look by incorporating natural looking pieces, like the rug and the driftwood chandeliers. The wood paneling also screams beach...and I love the striped lamp shade..

Notice the natural baskets in this display from William Sonoma...

It helps to have your back door open right on to the beach....

Have you noticed the glass lamp trends...

Love this stripe grass rug and the wicker chairs...

These next few pictures are from Rooms and Gardens in Santa Barbara...One of my favorite shops for a Coastal look...

Two Tone Sofas...

I just ordered a sofa for my family room and I was thinking of having the cushions done in a different fabric like these images...

I like the look..
but I decided that I would get tired of it and went with a conventional sofa...

I love how designer, Helen Green used the same tones of fabric but the cushions are a tad lighter...

I think Barclay Butera does this style beautifully and I love his work...

I even thought this would be a great idea because I could wash and bleach the cushion fabric when it got dirty...

I had someone say to me....
it looks like you  spilled something on your cushions and you were to cheap to reupholster the whole sofa so you just reupholstered part of it...

What do you think?

Or does it look creative to you and would you buy a two tone sofa for your home?

I would love to get your opinion....

Thanks for stopping by...
