Now it's a shopping destination with some interesting shops and places to have lunch.... I could of spent hours at H.D. Buttercups.... It went on and on... So many interesting things to look at... |
I loved this old chair... It reminded me of something Van Gogh would have painted... |
|
I found this vignette interesting... The rusty wire baskets and the owl pictures caught my eye... |
The chandeliers were really pretty... the picture doesn't do them justice... |

loving the globes!
ReplyDeleteYou find the most interesting places! I love the dark walls! I LOVE the chair in the 2nd image!!

What a cute shop. Yes, there is nothing like a day out with friends.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE HD Buttercup! Did you go across to the other side where the outlet is? I have a client that lives really close to the store and I cannot resist going in when I am up there. Where did you have lunch? There are some fun places there :D
ReplyDeleteI also remember the Helm's bakery truck!!!
How fun..and I love the name! Sounds and looks like a fun day..nothing like being with those that make us laugh and getting to drool over pretty things!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool shop...but I can't stop thinking about the donut truck!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great time!
ReplyDeleteI loved the cabinet beneath the wire baskets that I had to take a second look before I noticed anything else in the picture. That is beautiful!

Ok I am really dating myself, but I too remember the helms bakery truck. If you wanted them to stop at your house, you would put a blue sign with a picture of a boats helm in your window! And would you believe that in the Los Angeles school the first field trip for elementary school kids was a trip to the helms bakery!
ReplyDeleteJulie,
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to know the Helms Bakery building houses some really fun shopping. I have two antique pieces that my mom bought years ago, when the bakery converted to an antique warehouse. I'll have to check it out. I really like the bird pictures...I can see how you could imagine them in a dark room, but the prints look "spring" like to me...in the right room.
Have a wonderful rest of your week.

Julie - those gray chairs with the intricate nail head details!!! I need some!
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit HD Buttercup one day. I follow them on Instagram but that's not quite enough!

ReplyDeleteHD is such a vast and fun store with so many different looks. We were hoping to get our flowers sold there and visited a while back. We were amazed by the selection. Sounds like you had the perfect day and connecting with girlfriends is so important.

I would love a girlfriend day like this one. I could browse all day looking at this stuff. The nailhead trim on the chair is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLol! I can't do the birds (or bugs) in the house;)
ReplyDeleteYes, we all need these kinds of days. Life is so crazy it's really important to take time off every now and then and there is nothing like shopping with girlfriends! (husbands hover too much)
Such a fun place to shop! I lived in this area when I was a little girl. I'm sure my mom knows the bakery. I was actually born in Los Angeles.. a long time ago;)
Have a nice weekend.

Oh…I LOVE places with historic memories! We have a very old building in a fabulous part of downtown Birmingham that was once the Martin Biscuit Co. it has just opened again and I'm dying to go for breakfast! It looks amazing! Loved all of the pics…even the birds…and it did remind me of Tippi Hedren! But then again…I loved The Birds and Alfred Hitchcock! Great post!
ReplyDeleteyou have inspired my spring look!
