Week 5...ORC

Here we go again...
The One Room Challenge! ...or I should say...
The Six Week Challenge! 
We are in our 5th week and the anxiety to finish is over the top!! 

My sofa has arrived and I love how it looks....but I'm having a hard time finding accessories to add to the room...especially for the T.V. unit bookcase here.

These are the sofa pillows I had made...

Most of these are Ralph Lauren fabrics....
I can't wait to show you... 
I'm hoping I can finish in time...

Stonehaus Winery

Hello there....
Hope you had a great weekend....
I've been busy working on a couple of projects and working on the One Room Challenge....Let me tell you...sometimes it is a challenge to find the time to decorate my own home ...but, I always can find time to stop and meet a friend for coffee....

Sharon, who has a blog called Novara Way had mentioned that I should stop over at this charming little place called Stonehaus Winery...
Its a great place to meet with friends for coffee or wine in the evening..

 Stonehaus is close by in the middle of  Westlake Village, but it has a way of making you feel like your up the coast in Paso Robles.

They had decorated the place with pumpkins and Fall flowers...
It was very  relaxing and pretty..

This was a cute idea for dogs...

I loved this wall with all of the baskets filled with plants and flowers...

O.R.C. Week 4

Here we go again...

We are in week four of the One Room Challenge...

What makes it a challenge is that we only have 6 

weeks to redo a room...the master mind of this 

challenge is Linda from Calling it Home Blog.

I had the ottoman reupholstered, but its the only thing I got done this week!

You can see my new table in the background.....

This was the ottoman before...I should say..its my dogs ottoman!

This is my family room before...notice the shelve above the T.V.

I need to restyle it and I'm not sure what to do yet..

I've got to go shopping and buy some accessories.. 

The new sofa comes on Saturday..
Thank God! 

We are going crazy with out a sofa!

I just placed these items up here for now....
pretty bad..huh!

White Pumkins

I was taking to a friend the other day and she had  mentioned that Christmas was only 10 weeks away.....Just the thought of it was so overwhelming...

Can you believe it....
We'll be buying Christmas trees soon and decorating the house for the holidays...

I thought about how easy it is to decorate for Fall..

I always buy white pumpkins and I love them with fresh flowers...they look great with any color too.

Have any of you started thinking about the holidays and buying Christmas presents yet?

O.R.C. Up-Date

I can't believe its already Thursday and we are going into our 3rd week participating in the One Room Challenge...

I got the little pillows back and I thought they came out so cute...

And the pillows for the sofa are done..

The one at the bottom is my old pillow...

I've been trying to find a fabric that has  true red with blue and white...
The reds that are being shown right now are more of a orange red or pink red...

I have a feeling its going to take awhile to find...
Patience I guess...
Not my strongest virtue!

These are the larger pillows for the sofa..
The ottoman is being recovered and hopefully will be done in a week and my sofa should be delivered Saturday...I hope!

I still need accessories, but all I saw was  Pumpkins and Christmas decorations when I went shopping...
Yikes!

The Six Week Challenge..

Oh my gosh....
its been busy and we are only half way through the week...
Thank God I'm not doing a gigantic redo....
For those of you who don't know, I'm following along with The One Room Challenge...ORC..I have 5 weeks left to complete the redo of my family room...

The chair pads are done and I love how they look!

I'm replacing my old island with this one....I found  it at an antique store...it has a marble top!
I fell in love with it!
The marble has a patina feel..in other words, its been used, but it has character and I love it!

This ottoman belongs to my dog, she sleeps on it...really! 
That same dog that has peed on my drapes...
You can see who rules my house!
The ottoman with a chair that I gave away a couple of years ago....when company comes over I have my hubby put it in the garage...I do have some blue and white pin striped fabric I could recover it with or I could look for a new fabric...
I know...
I only have 5 weeks left!
I know...get with the program..
Right!

This is what were sitting on now...
I moved these chairs into the family room from the living room....you saw the blue sofa in the first post, which we brought to my husbands studio to help sell it...

I had bought a tan sofa and sold it to a client...so now I'm waiting for the new one to arrive...
I'm sure that was a little confusing!

A Beautiful Mess Home

My daughter and I went to check out the new location of the The Beautiful Mess Home in Agoura, Calif.

Kimberley Fraser, the stores owner has done a fantastic job at styling the store...it has a hip feel and she has many items from up and coming artists..you can check out the web-site here.

Love this table..

Old domino's in a wooden bowl..so simple and yet a great look...

She had an old cot with great pillows facing this sofa...

One Room Challenge

OK..the pressure is on...
I'm tagging along with ORC, The One Room Challenge...

I started to redo my family room months ago, but I had to put it on hold while I was taking  care of my parents. 

I have 6 weeks to finish this project and I will be posting an up-date every Thursday!

I added the wood details and painted the room at least 3 years ago. 
 I just bought a new sofa for this room and I will show it to you later on.

The kitchen and family room is one big room...and right now its too country!  

The table is being replaced with a fantastic vintage bamboo table I found at an Estate Sale...the chair is below.

The island will be replaced too.

This fabric, and the ones below, will be used for the pillows on the sofa and chair pads are for the vintage table..
