Christmas Glitzs

I was at the Agoura Antique mall a couple of weeks ago and I took these pictures to show you...

The owner of the store, Maria, always decorates the entry all up in glitz's for Christmas and this year was no exception...

Can you believe its this time of year again....buying gifts, decorating and cooking....
YIKES!

Christmas should be fun this year...
Our oldest granddaughter is now two and she gets excited to open gifts......
I'm hoping to decorate my house this weekend, but I'm not sure how I'm going to do it......
We have an artificial tree and I would love to get a real tree this year...I've always loved flocked trees.

I love how Maria filled silver containers with ornaments and feathers...

I loved this little bamboo number and I wanted it so bad...but I couldn't figure out where to put it...

So who is done buying all their gifts for the holidays?

Thanks for stopping by and
have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

White Pumkins

I was taking to a friend the other day and she had  mentioned that Christmas was only 10 weeks away.....Just the thought of it was so overwhelming...

Can you believe it....
We'll be buying Christmas trees soon and decorating the house for the holidays...

I thought about how easy it is to decorate for Fall..

I always buy white pumpkins and I love them with fresh flowers...they look great with any color too.

Have any of you started thinking about the holidays and buying Christmas presents yet?
Thanks for stopping by..

A Bitter Sweet Christmas........

Before I start rambling....I wanted to post the two readers who won the gift certificates from Novica..
Congratulations to
Leslie Ham and Carolyn Bradford.... have fun shopping!

I have been trying to get a post ready for you, but my heart is so heavy that my creativity is just not there...

Its going to be a bitter sweet Christmas.

Celebrating with family and friends is my favorite thing about this time of year.

Its what this season is all about.....but this year its  going to be well.....

It might be the last time I have Christmas with my Dad.

My father was diagnosed with Cancer....
He has a tumor behind his eye which has left him blind in one eye.....

He also has Alzheimer which complicates things.

He still knows who we are but he is slowly losing his world around him.....
and we are losing him.....

I didn't have the energy to decorate and put up the Christmas tree......  I bought some poinsettias and did a couple of vignettes and called it a day!

I had to remind myself that its not about the decorations, but its about a birth and giving.....
a time to celebrate the relationships that have been
so freely given.
And for the time my family has with my Dad.

One sweet blessing this year.....is our sweet grandchild......
As one life begins and another ends....my father will leave his legacy down through the generations within her...

Like I said...bitter sweet....

I have decided to take sometime off so I can spend time with family and help my parents.

I will be back sometime in January and back to posting decor, life, and just random things....

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all.

Thank you for visiting our blog and its been such a blessing to get to know so many of you in blogland.

One Kings Lane

I have a new sponsor.....my first one.
One Kings Lane
This is the first sponsor that I have considered after turning many down.
They have some great Christmas gifts, decorations, and home decor.
I was hoping I would be done with all of my shopping by the 1st of December.
 I'm almost done...
Take a peek at some of One Kings Lane items.

I always take a little gift with me to a party for the hostess.
 My Mother taught me well!
These pretty soaps would be a wonderful gift.
Cute tea towels

Two of these would look great on a Mantel for the holidays. I love black and white with Christmas decor.

I love these....wouldn't they make great gift baskets....filling these with cookies or teas.

They would be great with a plant in them or in the bathroom with white towels for your guest.

Botanical s are so hard to find these days. I have been looking for some for my own home.

I would love to get one of these rugs for Christmas.....hint hint....my hubby proof reads my  blog for me!

This would look great in my living room.

and in my dinning room!

Birckshire Antiques and Home sale has some wonderful items for the home. If by chance your getting your home ready for Christmas or New years and need that one special item.

Love these chairs.

Check out One Kings Lane here.....
This sale ends Monday!

I know I had mentioned a give away.

Funny thing...... maybe..... not so funny.....

I have not heard back from the the company that offered the give away.
I emailed them but didn't hear back from them.

I didn't  feel comfortable giving away a gift certificate without having it in my hand.

Hopefully I will receive it soon and if not.....

We will give something else away for all of you. Thanks for understanding.

Have a great weekend...
