Vintage Flea and a Bamboo Mirror

Have you ever felt sick, but not sick enough....I'm still re-cooperating from my accident and a cold..I feel terrible in the morning and after loading up on Advil and cold meds I feel better in the afternoon...by dinner  I'm feeling pretty bad and dizzy!

I went to a flea/vintage sale this weekend...its put on by the Barn Chicks. 
They have it twice a year and
 the prices were pretty good!

I thought this chair was cute..

I was hoping to find some unique items.... I did find a beautiful painting of the ocean and two shells.

I liked these rope balls 

And this is a mirror and a small table I found, the table has a mirrored top...

I'm thinking of putting it right here in my entry way with small prints beside it.

What do you think...paint it Black or keep it red?

Beach House

This cottage is in Del Mar California...its a cute little beach town in Orange County... I would love to live near the beach..
After the weekend we had...I wish I was laying on the beach right now...which I will tell you about in just a bit...

It is ocean front...sounds nice HUH!

It is about 3,200 sq feet...

The rooms are small, but adorable!

Look at that view!

I would love to have my breakfast here every morning...

Love the flooring!

There are 5 bedrooms, 5 1/2 baths.

Love all the white wood details...

This would be a dream backyard...

And this is why I had a bad weekend....
My hubby and I were driving to Ventura Beach and the traffic came to a sudden stop...
The man behind us wasn't paying attention and hit us going 60 miles an hour.
The impact pushed us into the car in front of us...
We were very lucky...
Just very banged up and of course we have whiplash...
Are we having fun yet?

I had to go to the hospital to be checked out...but all and all I'm fine...
It could of been so bad...

Thank God my daughter and the baby weren't in the back seat...

The crazy thing is my son and daughter were just a few minutes behind us in separate cars.
They both pulled over to help...
And my older son was driving on the opposite side of the freeway, but didn't know it was us..

Pretty crazy huh?

Yellows Fabrics

Sometimes a creative mind works in mysterious ways....especially mine....
I have these beautiful yellow and white fabrics that I adore and I found this gorgeous rug that was pink with a tad of yellow....that's all it took for me to envision a room that could look like this...

This is from Robert Allen...I love this!
 It comes in a variety of colors and I had pillows made for my sofa out of it in blue and white.....It would make beautiful curtains...wouldn't it?

I took my vintage yellow lamp and put it with these wonderful fabrics...
It needs a different shade...

So on the topic of vintage...
I found this great pot a couple of weeks ago...see how my mind works..it led to this whole new subject on vintage finds....

And I found this mirror...is it just me or is this so cool.....
Wouldn't this look great with all those yellow fabrics...

Coastal up-date

I've been adding those little details to my clients home....I enjoy this part of design....it brings everything together....

My clients wanted a coastal/ beachy look.

I need to buy bigger shells for this basket, but I wanted my clients to get an idea of what it will look like with shells in it...

We are still waiting for art work for this wall....the lamp is by R.L.

This was the dining room before we started the redesign. We kept the chairs and had them painted black...

We added wood floors to this area and took out the wall so it would have a better flow...its almost ready to be photographed...

Lets Get Organized.

I was asked by Leslie at Segreto Finishes with 7 other bloggers to participate in organization challenge...

My closets desperately need help in this area and I'm sure my family would be cracking up  knowing what my closets look like...

I'm convinced that it's difficult to organize if you don't have the right shelving and drawers in your space...

We have the standard closets you get with a tract home in California...a couple poles for clothing and a shelve above it...
This makes it hard to be organized!

These are all dream closets for me...but the best way to be organize is to keep things together that are the same color and style.

I would love to have an area for purses....
Melanie Charlton  at Clos-Ettetoo blog says another way to store your handbags is to hang them on s-shaped hooks, but never store them with stuff in them....so clean out those purses before you store them.

I love this idea...

The trick to this is remembering to put everything back after you wear them.

So here is my tip....
I once had a professional organizing company come to my home and help me...
They put baskets on my driveway and labeled them... trash, give away, shoes, pants, you get the idea...
They went through the whole closet and separated all the items into the baskets...
What I kept they put back into my closet by color and style....They also labeled all containers..
