The Circle of Life....

As I see my husbands eyes and my moms smile in my children and grandchildren...

I think of the generations that were here before me and what was passed down from one to another....
We pass on our traditions, our stories...and our love to the next generation...

Meet our newest little bundle...

Rose Holland, 5 pounds 9 oz...

This is our other little queen bee...

Rose was born on a Wednesday and my Dad died on Thursday...

If you've been reading my blog...

you know that my dad had been sick for a couple of years....
He had Cancer and Alzheimer.

It's one of the most devastating illness I've seen..
To watch my dad  deteriorate from this illness was very hard.....

He was a bright man.....
he had a degree in computer science....

He could figure out how to do almost anything and near the end he couldn't flip on a light switch..
so sad!

Good by Daddy...

I love you and will miss you.

 (Where Feet May Fail)"

You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep my faith will stand

I will call upon Your Name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

Your grace abounds in deepest waters
Your sovereign hand will be my guide
Where feet may fail and fear surrounds me
You've never failed and You won't start now

Spirit lead me where my trust is without borders
Let me walk upon the waters
Wherever You would call me

Take me deeper than my feet could ever wander
And my faith will be made stronger
In the presence of my Saviour

I will call upon Your Name
Keep my eyes above the waves
My soul will rest in Your embrace
I am Yours and You are mine.

  10. Oh Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. Its so very painful. My father died of cancer five months before my son was born. It helps to remember my father when he was healthy, as a smiling young dad and all his kids running to greet him…or later in the kitchen fixing us gourmet meals with a deep laugh. Remember those moments with your father and enjoy the new ones with your Rose and Scarlet. Sending a prayer your way.

  11. Oh Julie I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. I'm fortunate enough to still have both of my parents in good health and sound mind in their 80's. Try and take comfort in the happy memories and sweet times you shared with him. The grands are absolutely precious and I know you'll get so much enjoyment and love from them. Prayers for your family!

  12. Dear Julie - I am so very sorry about your dad. My condolences to you and your family. Please take all the time you need, and cherish little Rose. And beautiful Scarlet, too. Take care~

  13. So, so sorry about your father. It's very hard, losing a parent, but may your family and lovely little Rose help buoy your spirits. It will get a bit easier with time, and you'll remember him as he was earlier, all the good times and ideas. Very best wishes.

  14. Julie-
I am so sorry to learn that your dad has passed away. I know that is has been a long battle. My grandmother and mother died from Alzheimer's, so I cry with you. Such a horrific way to end life.
Congratulations on the birth of the precious angel. And Scarlet is too adorable.
It has been a week for you.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

  15. Oh Julie. You have my deepest and most heartfelt condolences. My mom died of this in June, and my grandmother in January, and I literally just got back today from a remembrance for my grandmother. It is so so hard when a loved one is taken for any reason, but this disease strikes particularly hard, I think. Watching your father lose his ability to remember and care for himself is unspeakably horrible. i am thinking of you and am so very sorry. xoxo

  16. Thanks for sharing today! These photos are gorgeous and inspirational. Putting them in my mind's memory bank..

But I know you have to just devastated and for this I am really sorry. I will say a prayer for you for God to keep you in his embrace and help to keep you strong and comforted during this difficult time.
Sending a big hug across the miles......

  18. Truly a circle of life here…please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. My father too has been battling a devastating illness for the last 5 years and it is so hard to watch. I try daily to think of the blessings that my mother is his rock and has been for 60+ years and he is able to stay in their home that he has loved for 40+year with caregivers, but it is such a hard concept…Your precious new Rose and Scarlett are indeed blessings…warmest hugs…

  19. terribly sorry julie, those are both a time of devastating loss and the healing of a new life. my husbands mother has alzheimers in an advanced state, she knows no one and comprehends nothing.
there is another poem i have found to be thoughtful and helpful in these times. it is called 'there she goes' by van dyck
    embrace those precious little girls
    warm hugs

  20. Little Rose and Scarlett will help lessen the blow for all of you. Give them lots of hugs. My mother in law had alzheimers. It was very difficult for all of us but a blessing for her when it ended.

  21. Julie,
I'm so sorry for your loss of such a lovely father. The circle of life is certainly prevalent as we all age. Rose is beautiful as is Scarlett. Embrace these gifts and I send my sympathy at loosing a parent. It's a difficult transition.

  22. Julie, I am so sorry for your loss. Sending prayers your way!

  23. Julie, I am so sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you. Keeping you in my prayers.

  24. I am so sorry this is late as you know we lost my father inlaw this past week. I am so sorry for you and your family, it is never easy even after long suffering and you know they are at peace. You still will all the good times and one day will be able to smile at them too. Well you did receive a little miracle as well and she will warm your heart through tis tough time. xo Karolyn

  25. I wish I had words to make you feel better, but know no words have that power at this time. The disease is a horrible one and I am making the journey with my husband now. Your father was so lucky to have you by his side. Karol
