My Style

If I could wear a pair of jeans every day, I would....

I guess you could say I'm a jean girl!

I like to live in comfort....

If I had to pick one style to describe myself,
it would be "casual but sophisticated"....

At times I want my home to reflect a "casual, but sophisticated" style,
neutral colors...
simple lines, with a creative flare.

a bit sexy, but natural

 Elegant

but fun...

Its important to surrounded yourself with balance....
....Love this look...

I do love a little lace...there's those jeans again!

and Linen

A palette of blues will always make my heart skip a beat.

And you gotta love a pair of boy friend jeans!

As long as I can remember I have loved blue and white china...

But, once in awhile a girl needs to be spoiled....

and feel like this!

What is your style?

What I love about Fall....

There has been a feeling of change in the air, an excitement, a brisk feeling as you step out side.

When the rest of the country is experiencing Fall, Southern California is still in the Summer mode.
It takes a little longer for us Callies to receive Fall.

  Autumn mornings and falling leaves.

 Crisp mornings and leafless trees.

 Beautiful colors cover the streets.

Things I love about Fall....

Nutty breads and pumpkin baked goods fill the air

 Leopard ......

Jeans all year around.

You can't forget about a great pair of boots.

Wearing warm gloves

Pumpkin pancakes.....To everything there is a season..

Grass withers, flowers fall

That is what I love about Fall!

Pantones Soft and Casual Color Palette...

We have some exciting things coming up, pictures of Danni's trip to Europe, Julie's daughter's wedding, two projects we will be sharing with you, but for now we will share with you another palette from Pantone.
A calm ambiance that is tranquil and comforting with pinks, blues, soft whites, blending with taupe, grays and grape hues.

With both of us having an art back ground we are always interested in the new colors selected for the new year.  We believe everyone has a palette that they can live with, if it is" in "or not. Some new colors can be added to your own palette, but most people have an innate feel for colors that they can live with. The job of an interior designer is to stretch their clients to try new things. As designers, we have a natural vision of what the room can and will look like that the client might have a hard time imagining.

The soft blues and taupe with just a touch of a pink accent in the flowers set the mood for this room.

Peonies are such a beautiful flower. One of our favorites. The bright pink color of these just pops out from the steely blues and taupe.

We will still be seeing animal print pillows for 2012, but will we still be seeing hide rugs?

Tangerine interiors..a Beautiful color Palette...

We had a great Christmas and hope you did also. Julie's daughter's wedding plans are coming along and can't wait until the big day. Danni has loved having her son home, but she can't wait to be able to get her sleep again. You know how it is when kids come home from college and the odd hours they keep. You can't wait to see them and then can't wait for them to go back to school!

We are so excited for the new year. Some of the new predictions for 2012 that we might be seeing is a softer side, more feminine, with  Brocade Damask and paisley patterns. When we think of feminine we think of French antiques, and a Baroque feel. We also think of Chintz, even though we haven't heard it mentioned, it has a very feminine feel. We are also hearing that we will be seeing more dark dramatic interiors, Twilight colors.  One palette we will be seeing more of is tangerine, soft yellows, faded shades of rose, stone washed blues and grays with a soft touch of greens. Pantone named Tangerine the color of the year.

Designer Mary Evelyn has created a soft palette with tangerine and cream. The portrait , ornate sconces, silk flowing drapery create that feminine touch.

The soft hues of green with a touch of tangerine as pipping on the ottoman is just darn right pretty! Don't you agree? The painting brings in the blues with the repeat of the tangerine..

Great mix of rustic beams and doors with a fun twist on furnishings. So inviting, can't decide where we want to sit. Maybe right by the amazing doors looking out to the back gardens.

Mamye Baker has come up with a fun whimsical wall of color.

Wonderful woven  fabrics. Makes us think of all the creative ways to use them in designing.

We love hearing about all the new predictions for the New year in interiors. We thought we would spend some time in January going through those forecasts. We would love to hear your opinion. Do you like the color palette or not?
