Changes

Oh my gosh...

Did you think I dropped off the planet?

Number one no no in blogging!

Time got away from me...sorry!

Here's where the weeks went!

I visited a store called Changes in Agoura Ca and fell in love with this chair!
You know I'm in love with Chinoiserie style.

The owner has great displays and if your looking for fun jewelry you'll have to check it out!

We celebrated my granddaughters birthday..she turned one...

Shoot...shes too cute!

My daughter made her an organic carrot cake with coconut milk frosting..

No sugar...

It was really good!

My daughter tries to give her only organic, no Gluten, no dairy and no sugar..

I sometimes wonder if that's why shes always in a good mood!

And here's my other cutie

We took photographs of my clients living room for my portfolio....

I took these photos with my phone..

Shoot, it takes such great pictures!

I cant wait to see the professional ones!

I had this coffee table custom made for her.

It has a beautiful stone top and I found the ivory box at an antique store...

I love it!
I wish they had two of them!

This fun chair was at Cost Plus...

It would look so cute in a little girls room.

The little cutie isn't for sale and shes one of a kind!

Virginia Kraft Textiles

I found these wonderful hand blocked textiles
while I was searching Instagram.  They were  created by Andrea Whalen..

Her company is named after her Grandmother, Virginia Kraft.

I've always loved hand blocked fabric..

I would love to try making my own one day.

I love this one!

Wouldn't it be cute in a children's room.

Virginia Kraft can be found here.

A percentage of all sales go to The Virginia Kraft Fund which helps underprivileged children in her community participate in music, sports and the arts.

My son came home on Saturday and hes doing well. He started an outpatient P.T. program and someone has to be with him at all times. He has a long road ahead of him and one more surgery. I'm sure he's going to be going through a lot of different emotions and frustrations and so are we. But, were flowing with it!

I use to tell my kids all the time..when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

And that's what were going to do!

Thanks for stopping by,
Julie

House Home and Up-Date

It has been an emotional two weeks and I wasn't sure how to start this post!  So many of you have been sending prayers and positive thoughts our way and we so appreciate it!

My son is still in I.C.U. and slowly making progress..He has swelling on his brain, broke his neck and broke both arms in 5 different areas. He has had two surgeries within two weeks. We've been told its going to be a long recovery, but he will recover!

I've had to put all projects on hold for now so I thought I would share with you some of my vignettes around the house..

I have shells and coral displayed around my house and I love to use these oriental stands to display them..

I found this antique dish and filled it with corals, shells and crystals..its one of my favorite displays in my home.

Baskets are a great way to display shells.

For some reason I have a collection of these basket suitcases...not sure why I have so many, but I do!

These are the fabrics for my new dining room chairs..the animal print will go on the front and the stripe on the back..the dark blue fabric is on the two head chairs.

We've had so many people love on us.  Bringing us dinners and praying for our son. Its always so touching to see the kindness in people and the love they have to share.  Thanks again for the sweet and kind emails you have sent us..

Vintage Flea and a Bamboo Mirror

Have you ever felt sick, but not sick enough....I'm still re-cooperating from my accident and a cold..I feel terrible in the morning and after loading up on Advil and cold meds I feel better in the afternoon...by dinner  I'm feeling pretty bad and dizzy!

I went to a flea/vintage sale this weekend...its put on by the Barn Chicks.

They have it twice a year and
 the prices were pretty good!

I thought this chair was cute..

I was hoping to find some unique items.... I did find a beautiful painting of the ocean and two shells.

I liked these rope balls

And this is a mirror and a small table I found, the table has a mirrored top...

I'm thinking of putting it right here in my entry way with small prints beside it.

What do you think...paint it Black or keep it red?

Thanks for stopping by,

Julie

Yellows Fabrics

( Artivos)

Sometimes a creative mind works in mysterious ways....especially mine....
I have these beautiful yellow and white fabrics that I adore and I found this gorgeous rug that was pink with a tad of yellow....that's all it took for me to envision a room that could look like this...

( Laura Terp Hansen)

Pink, white and yellow....

So pretty ....

This is one of the fabrics I adore from Duralee and in person the color is brighter and prettier...I took a picture of the sample below....

This is from Robert Allen...I love this!
It comes in a variety of colors and I had pillows made for my sofa out of it in blue and white.....It would make beautiful curtains...wouldn't it?

This is the same fabric from Duralee that I showed above...its a lot prettier in person...don't you think?

Isn't this a beautiful door...its from Taos Mexico and I found it here.

It needs a pink pillow...don't you think?

Windsor Smith....
So pretty...
This room has been in magazines, all over Pinterest and blogs and I can see why...

This gorgeous baby is from Surya Rugs...

I took my vintage yellow lamp and put it with these wonderful fabrics...
It needs a different shade...

Which led to this...
Pulling out some of my vintage fabrics...

This vintage fabric would be a great mix ..

OK..
So on the topic of vintage...
I found this great pot a couple of weeks ago...see how my mind works..it led to this whole new subject on vintage finds....

And I found this mirror...is it just me or is this so cool.....
Wouldn't this look great with all those yellow fabrics...

This is another one of my vintage finds....
Wouldn't it make great pillows?

Windsor Smith brought these colors all together perfectly....

Coastal up-date

I've been adding those little details to my clients home....I enjoy this part of design....it brings everything together....

My clients wanted a coastal/ beachy look.

I need to buy bigger shells for this basket, but I wanted my clients to get an idea of what it will look like with shells in it...

We are still waiting for art work for this wall....the lamp is by R.L.

This was the dining room before we started the redesign. We kept the chairs and had them painted black...

We added wood floors to this area and took out the wall so it would have a better flow...its almost ready to be photographed...

Thanks for stopping by..
